Today we left Tsitsikamma and drove to Jeffreys Bay, the surf capital of South Africa. It is one of the five most famous surfing destinations, and has been voted as the second best surf in the world.
While in Jeffreys Bay we had coffee and bought t shirts at the Billabong factory shop in. Many of the big surf brands have factory outlets in Jeffreys Bay – Roxy, Quiksilver, Billabong. Some of the outlets are enormous so you need to take time to browse. I got this t shirt, which says ‘Life’s better in Namibia’.
When we got to Port Elizabeth we went to the Boardwalk for lunch, walked on the pier and then drove past all the beaches.
After that we went to my family and had a wonderful evening. My cousins all came over and we had a huge braai (barbecue) with lots of South African dishes – especially desserts! I have not seen my family for seven years so it was the most amazing evening!
