If you had a photo taken with this Santa, you received a Lucky Dip (the boxes to the bottom left). It was a box with a toy, some sweets and maybe a little puzzle or two. For us kids, it was the fanciest thing ever.
I often feel sorry for the guy who had to play Santa. Perhaps he was a regular employee at OK Bazaars who was voluntold to act as Santa. Perhaps he was someone who was looking for employment. He used to have hyperactive kids climbing all over him all day and wear a heavy Santa suit in the middle of African summer. You can see from my tan and clothing that it was really hot. Poor guy.
