I couldn’t decide which of these pictures to use so I am going to use several.
I grew up in rural Africa where we danced out the old year under summer skies (usually to reggae!) and watched the sun come up over the sea while sitting on cooling sand dunes of powder-fine white sand.
Now I am living near the North Pole where the new year is welcomed under dark snowy skies with fireworks and champagne.
I have spent most of my new years the same way, however. Some of the time with friends and family, and the rest of the time thinking about the year past and the year ahead. I don’t often make definite New Year’s resolutions but I like saying goodbye to the old year and hello to the new year by myself. It does sound trite but a whole year full of promise and the unknown is quite exciting.
I want to wish all my readers a 2015 that brings you everything you have ever hoped for and dreamed of. Lots of love and laughter and sunshine, as well as health and happiness for your loved ones. Thanks so much for reading me and following me on my journey.
Janet
